Delhi-NCR received light to moderate rain on Saturday morning, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast more showers over the next 24 hours.

Cloudy skies and intermittent rain are likely to continue across Delhi and nearby areas.

The IMD warned of isolated heavy rain and thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR.

Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad may see intense showers, lightning and gusty winds.

Sudden downpours could cause waterlogging and traffic disruptions during peak hours.

Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh may receive heavy rain at isolated places, along with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.

The wider monsoon forecast covers several states. Parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha may receive heavy to very heavy rain, while several northeastern states could see significant showers.

Konkan and Goa, Gujarat and Rajasthan may receive heavy rain. Parts of southern India, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, could experience widespread rainfall.

Active monsoon conditions are likely to continue until August 27.

Delhi’s air quality remained in the moderate category. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 166, followed by Jahangirpuri at 125, Dwarka-Sector 8 at 113, RK Puram at 105, NSIT Dwarka at 104 and CRRI Mathura Road at 101 Pusa, DTU, Burari Crossing and IGI Airport recorded satisfactory air quality.
