India’s smartphone market is witnessing a change in how consumers assess new devices, with conventional specifications no longer dominating every purchase decision.
The growing popularity of streaming platforms, mobile gaming, social networking and video communication has placed greater emphasis on the quality of the display.
Findings from the Smartphone Insights Report 2026 by Flipkart and Counterpoint Research highlight the growing importance of the screen. Consumers increasingly view the display as a key part of the overall smartphone experience.
The report shows that 45 per cent of consumers associate chipset performance with display improvements. These include more accurate colours and quicker touch response.
The realme P Series has focused on younger smartphone users who seek capable hardware, contemporary styling and accessible pricing.
The P1 Series established this combination, while the P2 Series introduced further improvements in display quality and construction.
The P3 Series continued the momentum by surpassing three million units in global shipments.
realme has now carried the same approach into the P4 Series, with an increased focus on smooth performance and immersive viewing.
The P Series recorded the fastest growth among smartphone line-ups on Flipkart during the first half of 2026.
realme will seek to extend that growth with the P4s 5G, which will arrive on August 26 through Flipkart and realme.com.
The realme P4s 5G features a 17.22cm (6.78-inch) Samsung 1.5K AMOLED display capable of a 144Hz refresh rate.
Samsung Display’s M14 luminescent material forms the foundation of the panel, bringing improvements in efficiency and durability.
The screen can reach a global peak brightness of 1,400 nits, while local peak brightness can climb to 6,500 nits for HDR content.
Support for HDR10+ and Netflix HDR aims to deliver stronger contrast, enhanced detail and richer colours.
realme has paired the display with its Hyper Vision+ AI Chip and MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra.
The combination supports AI-based frame interpolation to produce smoother graphics and more fluid gameplay.
The device offers a 3,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, allowing gamers to receive faster touch responses during demanding matches.
The display carries TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification. It further offers full-brightness DC dimming for users who spend extended periods watching, gaming or scrolling.
