Yahya Sinwar

The Times of Israel reported a drone attack targeting the private residence of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea early this morning.

Authorities confirmed that Yahya Sinwar was killed by a gunshot to the head during an Israeli Defense Forces operation in southern Gaza.

Israel has launched extensive military operations against Hamas in retaliation for the October 7 attacks. The war against Gaza has killed nearly 42,500 civilians in Gaza, Health authority reported.

Following the elimination of Yahya Sinwar, a top Hamas leader, Joe Biden said that this development marks a 'good day' for Israel.

Israel announced on Thursday it had killed Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader behind the October 2023 attacks.

Sinwar joined Hamas in 1987 when it was founded by Sheikh Ahmad Yassin and has served 27 years in Israeli prisons over four jail terms.

As Israel prepares for a potential ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, a spokesperson for the Israeli forces has declared that Sinwar and his team "are in our sights."
