The Supreme Court has not granted interim relief to Tahir Hussain, an accused in the Delhi riots case. A split verdict was delivered by Justices Pankaj Mithal and Amanullah on his interim bail plea.

The Supreme Court is hearing a petition filed by Tahir Hussain, a former AAP councilor and AIMIM candidate, seeking interim bail to campaign.

Former AAP councillor, Tahir Hussain, who is currently in jail facing charges of conspiracy in Delhi riots case, received partial relief from Karkardooma Court.

Arguing against the plea, the police counsel told Justice Neena Bansal Krishna's bench that Hussain could file his nomination papers from jail, a practice allowed under election laws.

The Delhi Police has opposed the interim bail plea of Tahir Hussain, accused in the murder of IB employee Ankit Sharma during the 2020 Delhi riots.

Tahir Hussain has sought regular bail in the murder case of Intelligence Bureau (IB) employee Ankit Sharma during the 2020 Delhi riots. The court will hear the case again on January 15.
