Borge Brende, president and CEO of the World Economic Forum (WEF), has stated that India’s growth could reach 7-8% with ongoing reforms.

India has firmly established itself as the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, with over 1.59 lakh startups recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Indian startups have raised a total of $12.2 billion in funding in 2024, surpassing the entire funding amount for 2023. October alone saw over $1 billion raised across 119 deals, continuing the momentum as the year ends

Over the past five years, more than 10,000 technology startups have been empowered through various government schemes.

In a strong start to July, the Indian startups ecosystem secured $176 million across 16 major funding deals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the government's dedication to fostering a supportive environment for startups in India.

He reiterated the government's commitment to amplifying women's voices and addressing their concerns to ensure their active participation in economic development.

Taking a serious view of the issue, Vaishnaw said: "India is very clear, our policy is very clear...our startups will get the protection that they need."
