Public wants to know if Sitharaman delivers a populist budget that gives the average person more money, or if she sticks to the fiscal glide path and reduces the deficit to 4.5% of GDP by 2025–2026.

Last year on the Budget day, the BSE benchmark ended at 59,708.08 points, up by 158.18 points, or 0.26 per cent.

Plans are anticipated to be fiscally responsible with a focus on infrastructure spending but heavy on political messaging ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
