Nifty, Sensex indices closed higher as IT, realty and healthcare stocks advanced, while investors monitored earnings expectations and global market signals.

The Sensex and Nifty climbed nearly 1 per cent at the opening bell as investors flocked to IT, metal, pharma and chemical stocks.
