NGT

National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued directives to the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) regarding industrial units violating environmental norms in Muzaffarnagar.

By holding responsible parties liable for their actions, the NGT aims to compel adherence to statutory provisions and drive improvements in waste management infrastructure and practices.

According to the petition, the scarcity has been caused by the withdrawal of water by several entities, including the Kishanpur canal and two thermal plants.

Now after the fine has been imposed by the NGT, the Maharashtra government has approached the Supreme Court.

Raising suspicions about the sincerity of efforts, the NGT questioned whether settlement images could be manipulated, casting doubt on the authenticity of reported actions.

Perhaps this is the reason why Transport Commissioner Ashish Kundra is still trying to deny the existing vital facts in this matter. He claims that no company has got a stay and 5 out of 8 centers in Delhi have already shifted to the new system..

The matter of grave concern is that whether it is the government is of UPA or NDA, they never give importance to the advice of environmentalists. In the name of the environment, ministry, NGT and international conferences are all there but just to fill the paper.
