Mpox

The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed its support for Uganda’s efforts to contain the outbreak. In a statement released in Kampala on Friday, the WHO indicated that it is collaborating with the Ministry of Health and other partners to enhance response efforts.

Health and Child Care Minister Douglas Mombeshora made the announcement on Sunday, stating that both patients are stable, no longer infectious, and are being managed at home, according to Xinhua news agency.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare emphasized that there is no need for alarm. The patient has been isolated at a designated hospital and is reported to be in stable condition

Pakistan has confirmed a fourth case of the deadly Mpox virus, adding to global concerns as the World Health Organization (WHO) recently declared the disease a global health emergency.

Roger Kamba, the Health Minister of the DRC, has announced that the ongoing Mpox outbreak is now classified as a 'continental emergency'.

Principal Secretary P.K. Mishra announced on Sunday that India has not reported any cases of Mpox. Mishra chaired a high-level meeting to review the country’s preparedness and public health measures for the disease

In response to rising mpox cases globally, the Bangladeshi government has initiated passenger screenings for arrivals from countries affected by the disease.
