The MahaYuti alliance followed a 21-12-10 formula for ministerial berths. BJP secured 19 positions, Shiv Sena got 11, and NCP filled 9. The Cabinet now has 33 Cabinet ministers and 6 ministers of state.

A senior BJP functionary confirmed that the swearing-in will occur at Raj Bhavan on the eve of the week-long winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature, which starts on December 16.

On Thursday, Sanjay Raut took a dig at outgoing Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde after the MahaYuti alliance chose Devendra Fadnavis as new CM.

Ahead of today's swearing-in, caretaker CM & Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde extended his congratulations to CM-designate Devendra Fadnavis.

The swearing-in ceremony taking place in Mumbai at 5:30 PM today will see the return of Fadnavis to the helm as BJP with coalition unanimously choses Devendra to represent new government.

As counting began for the 2024 elections, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance led with 172 seats in Maharashtra, while the MVA trailed with 47.

The counting of votes for the 2024 Assembly Elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, alongside bypolls in 15 states, began promptly at 8 AM.
