SSY scheme was launched in 2022-23 in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as a special initiative under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor and guidance of the Chief Secretary.

Participation in the program would give access to nominal co-working spaces with high-speed internet facilities at JKEDI campuses in all 20 districts of the Union Territory

This is the first high-profile meeting after the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in August 2019. There was also a foreign visit in 2021 when envoys visited the union territory.

India took over the presidency of the G20 in December 2022. It is expected to host a total of 215 meetings across 55 locations this year.
