Electronics Exports

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Friday that electronics manufacturing in India has grown fivefold over the past six years.

India has stepped up its watch to block cheap Chinese imports following the steep US tariff hike on goods from the Communist country.

The Union Cabinet approved a ₹22,919 crore scheme to boost electronics component manufacturing and promote self-reliance in the sector.

India is set to reach $300 billion in electronics production by 2026, driven by the success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

The country's electronics exports are on track to exceed ₹3 lakh crore for the first time in the current fiscal year (FY25).

Smartphone exports increased by 45% as companies like Apple and Samsung expanded production in India.
