Virat Kohli Started The Fight, Players Who Were There Know How I Dealt With The Situation: Naveen-ul-Haq

RCB versus LSG ended up being one of the IPL 2023 season’s rivalries. After the game, Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq got into a fight, in which Gautam Gambhir, the LSG coach, also got involved. Due to their violations of the IPL’s code of conduct, all three of them were punished. As a result, match costs for Kohli and Gambhir were fined 100%, while those for Naveen were fined 50%.

Naveen-ul-Haq: Virat started the fight

Recently, Naveen explained what happened at the usual post-match handshakes, accusing Kohli of starting the altercation. The young Afghan player added that he did not get into any arguments with other players during the game. Only when Kohli grabbed his hand during the post-game handshake between the two teams did he react?
He shouldn’t have said those things both during and after the game. The fight wasn’t initiated by me. Virat Kohli initiated the altercation when we were shaking hands following the game. You’ll know who initiated the brawl when you look at the fines, he said in an interview with BBC Pashto.

What has Naveen had to say?

“I just want to say one thing: I generally don’t sledge anyone, and even if I do, I would say it to the batters only when I am bowling because I am a bowler. In that match, I didn’t utter a single word. I didn’t sledge anyone,” Haq continued.

“Players who were there know how I dealt with the situation. I never lost my temper, whether I was batting or after the match. What I did after the match can be seen by everyone. I was just shaking hands, and then he (Kohli) caught my hand forcefully, and I am also a human being, and I reacted,” the Afghan pacer stated.

I know how to shut critics’ mouths: Naveen-ul-Haq

After the incident, Naveen-ul-Haq received severe backlash on social media as well as in the stadiums during his matches. The youngster said that he wasn’t concerned about the trolls as he was more focused on letting his game do the talking.
“It didn’t affect me at all. I know how to shut critics’ mouths. Don’t have to give it back to the 80,000 people; I was just focusing on my cricket. I had trust in my abilities and wanted my performance to do the talking,” he said.
