Sports Fraternity Hails PM Modi’s Public Service As He Turns 76

Prominent figures from Indian sport on Thursday wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday, with several cricketers praising his dedication to public service and wishing him good health and a long life.

Sachin Tendulkar said PM Modi’s ‘tireless dedication’ continued to inspire people, while Harbhajan Singh highlighted the Prime Minister’s commitment, perseverance and service to the nation.

India men’s cricket head coach Gautam Gambhir wished PM Modi health and happiness and expressed hope that he would continue guiding India towards a glorious future.

Former India captain Mithali Raj recalled receiving PM Modi’s encouragement and support at different stages of her journey.

Venkatesh Prasad praised his ‘energy, discipline and unwavering commitment to the nation’ and wished him good health, strength and many more years of service.

Yuvraj Singh said PM Modi’s leadership was shaping India’s journey towards a stronger and more progressive future.

VVS Laxman also extended his greetings, wishing Modi good health, strength and happiness while saying his dedication and service continued to inspire millions.

PV Sindhu Recalls Personal Memory

Double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu shared a detailed birthday message and recalled sharing an ice cream with PM Modi.

She also reflected on the changes she had witnessed in Indian sport, particularly in terms of support, opportunities and confidence among athletes.

Sindhu said personal interactions with the Prime Minister remained among the memories she valued most.

Former India captain and Cricket Association of Bengal chief Sourav Ganguly also conveyed his birthday greetings.

“I wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji a very happy 76th birthday. May God give him the best of health and all the happiness. He has been a fabulous leader for the country,” Ganguly said.

PM Modi was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat. His 76th birthday also comes ahead of October, when he will complete 25 years in public life since becoming Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001.
