S Sreesanth charged in ₹ 18.7 lakh cheating case by Kerala man

Based on a complaint from a man in Kannur district, north Kerala, the police have filed a cheating case against cricketer S Sreesanth and two others.

A resident of Choonda, the complainant claimed that Rajiv Kumar and Venkatesh Kini, the accused, had stolen ₹ 18.70 lakh on several occasions beginning on April 25, 2019, on the pretense that they would establish a sports academy in Kollur, Karnataka, where cricket player Sreesanth is a partner.

Sareesh Gopalan claimed in his complaint that he invested the funds after being given the chance to join the academy as a partner.
