Suryakumar Yadav
On the eve of the opening game in Visakhapatnam on Thursday, star batsman Suryakumar Yadav gave a press conference as he prepared to captain India in a five-match Twenty20 International series against Australia. In light of the impending T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA, Suryakumar, who is captaining the Indian team in Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya’s absence, discussed the series’ significance. Suryakumar found it humorous, nevertheless, that there were only two reporters present for the press conference.
“Only two people?” questioned India’s chosen series captain.
The four-minute press conference saw the two journalists asking Suryakumar different questions at different points in time.
Suryakumar wants the young Indian team to play fearless cricket and do everything that can help the side, even though both teams will be playing second-string lineups.
“I believe I told them to be really selfless when we stepped onto the field when I first met them in the afternoon. I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t prioritize team objectives over personal accomplishments. As a result, I instructed them to put the needs of the team first and answer the phone if the need arose. Since I’ve played with them frequently throughout the IPL and a few
India matches, they are familiar with my mentality, so it wasn’t too hard for me to express myself. About the series, we are enthusiastic,” Suryakumar told ANI.
