PT Usha: Indian Olympic Association’s new boss

India's one of the greatest athletes with four gold medals and seven silvers at the Asian Games, PT Usha is the new chief of the IOA

The Udan Pari of India is the supremo of Indian Olympic Association now. It is PT Usha who is India’s one of the greatest athletes with four gold medals and seven silvers at the Asian Games.

Now the Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, who previously was the Union Sports Minister, congratulated the legendary athlete on her election.

India’s one of the all-time top athletes, PT Usha has been elected as the President of the IOA (Indian Olympic Association.)

In his tweet, the Union Minister writes, “Congratulations to legendary Golden Girl, Srimati PT Usha on her being elected as the new President of the IOA. I also would like to congratulate all the sporting heroes of India on becoming the office bearers of the Indian Olympic Association! The nation is proud of all of you!.”

Earlier media reports told that Usha had shown her interest for the post and she said that she was going to file nomination for the post.

The golden girl of India also tweeted in response to her delight, “With the warm support from my fellow athletes along with National Federations people, I am honored and humbled to accept and file for my nomination of the post of IOA president!”

Every one seems to be happy with the news and SAI (Sports Authority of India) also did not wait to retweet on Rijiju’s tweet.

India’s one of the super star sprinters, PT Usha’s name is included in the list of  the greatest athletes to have ever come out of India with bragging seven silvers and four gold medals at the Asian Games.

She is also known for the historical moment when she missed out on a podium finish in the 400m hurdles women’s race in America. It was 1984 and the race track belonged to the soil of Los Angeles Olympics where she by 1/100th of a second lost her bronze. Her fastest timing of 55.42s in the LA still is holding as a national record.
