On Wednesday, PM Modi dials para-athletes from the Paris Paralympic Games, including Ajeet Singh Yadav, Sundar Singh Gurjar, Sharad Kumar, Mariyappan Thangavelu, and Deepthi Jeevanji, commending them for their remarkable accomplishments.
As PM Modi dials Para-Athletes, he conveyed his delight at India’s best-ever performance at the Paralympics. He highlighted how their achievements have inspired the nation’s youth and boosted the popularity of various sports.

PM Modi encouraged the athletes to celebrate their victories and assured them that the entire nation is proud of their accomplishments, irrespective of the medal color. He stated, “Each one of you has made the country proud.”

Notably, Harvinder Singh made history by winning India’s first-ever gold medal in archery at the Paris Paralympics 2024. He defeated Poland’s Lukasz Ciszek 6-0 in the men’s individual recurve final, securing India’s first gold medal in archery at both the Olympics and Paralympics.
Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed “heartiest congratulations” to para-athletes Dharambir and Pranav Soorma and praised their “unstoppable spirit” for winning medals in the men’s club throw event at the Paris Paralympics.
“The exceptional Dharambir creates history as he wins India’s first ever Paralympic Gold in Men’s Club Throw F51 event at the #Paralympics2024! This incredible achievement is because of his unstoppable spirit. India is overjoyed by this feat,” PM Modi posted on X.
