Other than Team India’s own misfiled and lackluster attitude on the ground, it was Mehidy Hasan who snatched victory from India, for Bangladesh with a of 1-0 in the series.
Another defeat after the world cup and New Zealand, Team India had to face one wicket fiasco in a close match against Bangladesh in the first ODI today.
The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Bangladesh was played at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on today on Sunday. In this match, Bangladesh thwarted India by one wicket in a close match and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
Winning the toss, Bangladesh decided to bowl first. As usual batting first, India did not have a good start. KL Rahul took over the innings after the top order disintegrated badly. But even he could not take the team to the defending total. Team India could add only 186 runs on the score board after losing 10 wickets in 41.2 overs. In which KL Rahul’s biggest contribution was 73 runs.
After this, the beginning of the Bangladesh team was also not good. Deepak Chahar made opener Najmul Hussain walk on the very first ball of the first over. After this, Liton Das and Haq handled the innings but with his dismissal and the fall of Shakib-ul-Hasan, Bangladesh’s innings faltered.
Then appeared Mehdi Hasan who finally snatched victory from the hands of India. India strengthened the hold on the match and the hope of victory was visible amidst the continuous falling of the Bangladesh wickets. At one time Bangladesh’s score was 136-9 but here Mehidy Hasan played a brilliant inning and snatched the victory from the hands of India. Mehidy scored 38 not out. For the last wicket, Mehidy shared an unbeaten 51-run partnership with Rahman. For India, Siraj took three wickets while Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Sen, playing the first match, took 2-2 wickets.
