The Belarusian showcased her strong form, taking just 76 minutes to secure a 6-3, 7-5 victory. This win marks Sabalenka’s 15th career title and her sixth at the WTA 1,000 level.
Sabalenka’s victory ended Pegula’s nine-match winning streak. Pegula had recently defended her Canadian Open title. From the start, Sabalenka dominated the match. She broke Pegula’s serve in the fourth game of the first set and easily won it.
In the second set, Sabalenka encountered a brief challenge. Although she was serving for the title at 5-4, Pegula broke back. Despite this setback, Sabalenka quickly regained her composure. She broke Pegula’s serve again and served out the match confidently.
