Israeli Military Says Ground Forces Have Encircled The Southern Gaza City Of Khan Younis
The Israeli military says its forces have encircled the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis. The territory's second largest city has seen heavy fighting in recent days, with dozens of Palestinians killed and wounded. Israeli officials have said top Hamas leaders may be hiding in tunnels under the city. Khan Younis is the hometown of Yehya Sinwar, Hamas' top leader in Gaza, whose whereabouts are unknown. The military announced the encirclement in a statement Tuesday.

Bombay High Court has extended the interim relief granted to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from appearing before a magistrate court in Mumbai until February 26 in a defamation case against him. Gandhi had approached the Bombay High Court through his lawyer Kushal Mor, seeking the quashing of the proceedings against him for his "commander-in-thief" remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018 while addressing a public rally in Rajasthan. Gandhi had tweeted the same on September 24, 2018.

Trade Resumes As Pakistan And Afghanistan Reopen Torkham Border Crossing After 10 Days
Trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan resumed on Tuesday after the two sides reopened a key northwestern border crossing shut for more than 10 days. Truckers for years have been able to cross the border without documents, so they generally do not have them. But Pakistan began mandating truck drivers get visas last week. The two sides after a series of meetings agreed to reopen the Torkham border crossing but Pakistan set a new deadline of March 31 for the truck drivers to get visas, said Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, a director of the Pakistan-Afghanistan joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Abdul Basir Zabali, the Taliban-appointed spokesman for the police chief in Nangarhar province, said the Torkham crossing was reopened after the two sides talked, but he didn't give details.
Consecration Of ‘Ram Lalla’ In Ayodhya Celebrated In North Sri Lanka
Several temples in Sri Lanka's Hindu-dominant north celebrated the consecration of 'Ram Lalla' in Ayodhya, with rituals being conducted simultaneously with the official event. Rituals were conducted in various temples on Monday, including at the iconic Nallur Kovil temple. Officials of the Indian Consulate also attended the event. Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil or Nallur Murugan Kovil is one of the most significant Hindu temples in the Jaffna district of the Northern Province. Large crowds gathered at temples, with devotees cleaning holy statues in the morning. They later organised prayers and sang Ram bhajans. According to the 2011 census, over 12.5 per cent of Sri Lanka's 21 million population are Hindus. In Jaffna, over 80 per cent of the estimated 650,000 population are Hindus.
