Max Healthcare acquires 550-bed Sahara Hospital For ₹940 crore
Max Healthcare Institute Ltd has entered into a transaction that would give it control of Lucknow’s Sahara Hospital, a 550-bed facility, for a total consideration of ₹940 crore. The acquisition marks Max Healthcare’s entry into Lucknow. The healthcare provider entered into a Share Purchase Agreement to acquire 100 percent stake of Starlit Medical Centre for an enterprise value of ₹940 crore through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Crosslay Remedies Limited (CRL). Starlit had entered into a Business Transfer Agreement with Sahara India Medical Institute Ltd to purchase the healthcare undertaking consisting of the Sahara Hospital, on a slump sale basis, Max Healthcare told the stock exchange.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah to chair the 26th meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council in Patna, Bihar on December 10. Eastern Zonal Council comprises the states of Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand. The meeting is being organized by the Inter-State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with the government of Bihar. The 26th meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council will be attended by the Chief Ministers of the member states along with two senior ministers from each state. US vetoes UN resolution calling for Gaza ceasefire
United States vetoed a United Nations resolution backed by the vast majority of Security Council members and many other nations demanding an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. While thirteen members voted in favour of a brief draft resolution, put forward by the United Arab Emirates, Britain abstained from voting. The US Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations, Robert Wood, declared in the council that halting military action would allow Hamas to continue to rule and “only plant the seeds for the next war”.

Tax raids continue at the premises of Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu in Odisha and Jharkhand on Saturday, even as more than Rs 200 crore of unaccounted cash has been recovered so far. The raids began on Wednesday (December 6). The Income Tax teams seized three more bags from Dheeraj Sahu's premises in Ranchi, while nearly 19 bags of money were seized from the house of one Bunty Sahu, deputed as in charge of the maintenance of liquor factories in the areas where raids were underway in Odisha.
Counterterrorism Operations Conducted in Maharashtra and Karnataka Regarding ISIS Terror Cell Case
Anti-terror raids are purportedly being conducted in connection with the ISIS terror cell investigation in a number of Maharashtra locations. Another location in Karnataka is being raided by the National Investigating Agency. Thane, Pune, and Mira Bhayandar are among the 40 locations in Maharashtra that are being raided. These locations are primarily in Thane City (9), as well as Thane Rural (31). Two locations in Pune and one in Mira Bhayandar are being raided. The raid resulted in the detention of some individuals.
