On Sunday, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' programme was more popular among the masses than 'Mahabharat' and 'Ramayan' mega TV serials of the 1980s. His assertion came after listening to the 108th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' at his home constituency Town Bardowali along with party leaders and workers. "We used to see our mothers and sisters rushing towards TV screens to watch episodes of 'Mahabharat' and 'Ramayan' soaps on Doordarshan every Sunday. Nowadays, we see our mothers and sisters rushing to listen to PM's 'Mann Ki Baat' on the last Sunday of every month. This program is more popular than the soaps of the 1980s," he said while addressing the gathering.
Siddaramaiah says party high command has summoned him to discuss Lok Sabha polls
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said the Congress high command has summoned him to Delhi to discuss the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. "I have been summoned to Delhi. Mostly, they have called me to discuss the parliament elections," Siddaramaiah told reporters. To a query on the appointments of boards and corporations chairperson, the chief minister said the government is finalising the list. "Earlier we thought of appointing MLAs first but now there is a demand to pick party workers as well. So, we are making a list," he added.

Rajasthan Cabinet expansion: 22 MLAs took oath as ministers in Rajasthan on Saturday
The state cabinet expansion took place at Raj Bhawan in Jaipur. Of these, 12 were sworn in as cabinet ministers, five as ministers of state (independent charge), and five as ministers of state. The current Cabinet ministers in the region consist of a group of twelve members, including Kirodi Lal Meena, Madan Dilawar, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Gajendra Singh Khimsar, Babulal Kharadi, Jogaram Patel, Suresh Singh Rawat, Avinash Gehlot, Joraram Kumawat, Hemant Meena, Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary, and Sumit Godara. Additionally, there are five Ministers of State with independent charge, namely Sanjay Sharma, Gautam Kumar, Jhabar Singh Kharra, Surendra Pal Singh, and Heeralal Nagar.
