Lord Ram Temple, Ayodhya: The idol of Lord Shri Ram is set to be consecrated in the magnificent Ram temple on January 22, a date that Ram devotees from all over the world eagerly await. Devotees are getting ready to celebrate the 22nd with bhajan, kirtan, and aarti, along with lighting the earthen pots (Diyas) like Diwali, to make it extra special. At the same time, a grand 51 feet statue of Hanumanji is also to be unveiled in Geeta Colony in Delhi on January 22.
The fact that Hanuman ji has both Lord Shri Ram and Lakshman perched on his shoulders makes this statue unique. It was erected in the historic Hanuman temple close to Ramlila Ground in Geeta Colony, East Delhi. The scene in the Ramayana where Hanuman ji was supposed to meet Lord Shri Ram and Lakshman with Sugriva served as the model for this idol.
The temple administration told Bharat Express correspondent Amrit Prakash that they had decided five or six months before January 22 to unveil the statue of Hanuman Ji. That being said, it is a remarkable coincidence that Ram Lalla’s consecration is occurring on the same day in Ayodhya, the city of Lord Shri Ram.
The massive and impressive Hanumanji statue that is being constructed in Geeta Colony has drawn a lot of attention from the public. People nearby say that just as the 108-foot-high Hanumanji statue of Karol Bagh has enhanced the beauty of the place, similarly the identity of the people of Geeta Colony will also increase with this grand statue.
