Supreme Court Quashes Himachal Pradesh High Court’s Decision to Transfer IPS Officer Sanjay Kundu; Orders SIT Probe Instead

Supreme Court sets aside Himachal Pradesh High Court order to shift senior IPS officer Sanjay Kundu from the post of DGP over allegations that he tried to pressure a businessman who claimed to have received a threat to his life. The Top Court asks State government to form a SIT consisting of IG-level officers to investigate the matter. After the order of High Court, Kundu was transferred as Principal Secretary, Ayush Department from the DGP of Himachal Pradesh.
