Congress leader Ajay Rai

Smriti Irani: The difficulties of UP Congress leader Ajay Rai seem to be increasing. During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Ajay Rai gave a controversial statement on Union Minister Smriti Irani in Sonbhadra. After which the BJP has become the aggressor and an FIR has been registered against Congress leader Ajay Rai. Along with this, the National Commission for Women has issued a notice to Ajay Rai. According to the notice, Ajay Rai has to appear before the Women’s Commission on 28 December.

Provincial President of Uttar Pradesh Congress Ajay Rai had reached Sonbhadra on last Sunday for Bharat Jodo Yatra. During this, Ajay Rai had said that Smriti Irani comes to Amethi to show off and then goes back. He had said that Amethi has been and will remain a bastion of Congressmen and Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi will contest from Amethi. Challenging the Prime Minister, Congress leader Ajay Rai had talked about defeating the Banaras seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, Ajay Rai has also refused to apologize after the matter caught fire. He said that this is our colloquial language. This is not unparliamentary language, so why should I apologise?

Should I Be Sure To Contest From Amethi?- Smriti

So on the other hand, after Ajay Rai’s statement, Union Minister Smriti Irani also took a stand on Monday. Smriti has said in a tweet that Rahul Gandhi has heard that you have indecently announced to any of your leaders to contest from Amethi in 2024, so should I consider your contesting from Amethi for sure? Will you not run to the second seat? Aren’t you afraid???

Women’s Commission Took Cognizance

On this matter, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognizance of the indecent remarks made by Congress leader Ajay Rai against Union Minister Smriti Irani. The Women’s Commission has sent a notice to Ajay Rai to appear on December 28 at 12 noon.
