There are currently 40,215 active COVID cases throughout the nation, with more than 7,500 cases being reported with different symptoms in the past 24 hours.
According to information provided by the Union Health Ministry, the weekly positivity rate is 3.83%, while the daily positivity rate is 3.65%.
The coronavirus that causes COVID has so far undergone many mutations.
Health specialists claim that the XBB 1.16 strain, which is presently spreading quickly, is to blame for the country’s recent spike in COVID cases.
The usual COVID symptoms resemble those of the flu and the common cold. Most of the COVID symptoms that are frequently observed are respiratory in nature.
According to the ZOE Health Study, which actively investigated COVID symptoms during the early years of the pandemic, sore throat, runny nose, blocked nose, sneezing, cough without phlegm, headache, cough with phlegm, hoarse voice, muscle aches, and pains, and a changed sense of smell are some of the common symptoms of COVID.
Though the frequency of the classic symptoms has varied in recent years due to the occurrence of less severe cases, a few unique symptoms linked to COVID have also been observed.
People who contract COVID may also experience unusual symptoms including shortness of breath, which is characterized by forced breathing or trouble breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, rashes and lumps on the skin, discolored fingers and toes, hives, and swelling in the fingers and toes.
Patients who contract the coronavirus may also have disorientation or confusion, pink eye or conjunctivitis, light sensitivity, aching eyes, and itchy eyes.
According to research, COVID patients nowadays exhibit symptoms like a fever that lasts for one to two days, a sore throat, a splitting headache, stomach problems like diarrhea, and excruciating body pain.
Up until this point, no severe COVID XBB 1.16 instances have been reported.
However, given the harm the coronavirus has caused to humans, there are some groups that need to exercise caution with it. Elderly populations and people with respiratory issues need to use extreme caution.
You can protect yourself from COVID by washing your hands frequently, using masks, staying indoors unless absolutely necessary, and isolating yourself once the symptoms appear.
