The Special Cell of Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet in the Rouse Avenue Court against Hrithik alias Peter, an alleged accomplice in the case involving Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Naresh Baliyan.
Baliyan, who is facing charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA), was arrested earlier in connection with the case. The court has scheduled January 8 for taking cognizance of the chargesheet.
MCOCA Case Chargesheet Filed
The chargesheet, spanning about 300 pages, outlines the details of the case and the alleged involvement of the accused, including Hrithik alias Peter.
The court will review the chargesheet and consider the evidence presented before proceeding with further legal actions. On the same day, the court will also hear Baliyan’s bail plea, which was filed following his arrest under MCOCA.
Court To Hear Bail Plea
The Rouse Avenue Court is set to hear Naresh Baliyan’s bail plea on January 8. In the previous hearing, the court had issued a notice to Delhi Police, instructing them to respond to the application filed by Baliyan’s legal team. The court’s decision on this matter will determine whether Baliyan will be granted bail in the MCOCA case.
MCOCA Case Accused
Apart from Naresh Baliyan, other accused individuals facing charges in the MCOCA case include Hrithik alias Peter, Rohit alias Anna, and Sachin Chikara. These individuals are alleged to be involved in a criminal conspiracy linked to the case. The Special Cell of Delhi Police continues its investigation into the matter.
On December 13, the Rouse Avenue Court sent Naresh Baliyan to judicial custody until January 9, following his arrest in connection with the extortion case.
However, immediately after Baliyan was granted bail in the extortion case, Delhi Police re-arrested him under MCOCA, prompting further legal proceedings.
Transfer Of MCOCA Case
In a significant development, the Delhi High Court recently ordered the transfer of the case involving Naresh Baliyan and two other accused from Dwarka Court to Rouse Avenue Court.
The transfer was made following a petition filed by the Delhi Police, which sought to consolidate the case in a single court. This change is expected to streamline the legal proceedings and ensure a more efficient trial process.
