A Viral Video
Reports state that Kashyap tweeted a “fake” video showing the attacks on migrant laborers from Tamil Nadu, which quickly gained popularity on social media. Nevertheless, the primary suspect Rakesh Ranjan Kumar, a resident of the Gopalganj area, produced the film at a Patna apartment he was renting. “The entire purpose of producing a video in Patna was to trick the Bihar and Tamil Nadu police. We have double-checked with Rakesh Ranjan Kumar’s landlord, and he has also confirmed that the video was shot at his residence, the police spokesperson said earlier.
Accused Kashyap also has seven criminal cases against him. According to the report, Kashyap was arrested following the Pulwama incident for assaulting Kashmiri traders in Patna’s Lhasa market. Furthermore, he has previously shared several offensive communal posts.
In the current case, the Bihar Police’s Economic Offence Unit has filed an FIR against Kashyap and Yuvraj Singh and has decided to arrest them. Police are also searching for the accused’s possible hiding places. Further investigation is underway.
