Following the historic arrival of over 6.6 billion devotees at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, preparations are underway to welcome the rare Indian skimmer chicks on the sands of the Ganga.
Over 150 pairs of these endangered birds arrived in the region, typically laying eggs from December to March.
To protect their nests and newborn chicks, the Yogi government has deployed numerous watchers and placed the wildlife team on high alert.
