Yogi Government

The Yogi Adityanath government has taken significant steps to protect and rear cattle, placing Uttar Pradesh among the top states in cow conservation. The government has implemented large-scale schemes to improve cattle welfare while supporting farmers and boosting the rural economy.

Uttar Pradesh currently operates 6,708 rural cow shelters. These shelters use 100% of tagged grazing land, totaling 9,091.21 hectares, to ensure cattle care. Yogi Government has prioritized green fodder production on this land to solve nutritional challenges for cattle.

Increased Green Fodder Production

Green fodder now grows on 5,465.93 hectares, covering 60.12% of the tagged pasture land. Farmers have cultivated Napier grass on 1,007.99 hectares and Barseem and Jowar on 4,457.93 hectares. This initiative ensures nutritious food for cattle and enhances cow progeny care.

Districts like Jalaun (396 shelters), Hardoi (357), Hamirpur (319), and Banda (309) lead in cow shelters. The government has distributed 7,404.41 quintals of sorghum fodder seeds and 810.80 quintals of certified Barseem fodder seeds to farmers. These efforts aim to make cow shelters self-reliant and encourage farmers to grow fodder.

Yogi Government to Promote Organic Farming and Sustainability

The government also promotes cow-based organic farming and environmental protection. It has distributed 35 lakh Napier root slips to farmers. Organic fertilizers from cow dung and urine are improving soil health and reducing costs for farmers.

These measures strengthen the rural economy while advancing self-reliance and sustainable development. The Yogi government’s initiatives benefit cattle, promote organic farming, and ensure a robust rural ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh.
