To enhance devotees’ comfort at Maha Kumbh 2025, the Yogi government has introduced an online system for procuring firewood for bonfires.
The Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation has made firewood depot locations accessible via Google to help pilgrims combat the cold during the event.
Devotees, including those arriving from abroad, can now easily locate depots by searching ‘firewood depot Prayagraj’ online, ensuring a hassle-free and efficient process.

DSM Prayagraj RK Chandna announced that 16 firewood depots have been established across the Maha Kumbh area, with wood priced at Rs 600 per quintal.
This initiative addresses the increasing demand for firewood during the event and ensures an uninterrupted supply.
Major depots are located in Sector 16, with all 16 depots strategically set up to cater to the needs of pilgrims.
The Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation guarantees the availability of wood at reasonable rates.
Devotees can use mobile navigation to find and reach the nearest depot effortlessly.
The Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation estimates supplying approximately 27,000 quintals of wood during Maha Kumbh.
Officials will transport firewood from various depots across the state and sell it at the prescribed rate of Rs 600 per quintal.
This digital initiative by the government ensures that devotees have easy access to firewood, contributing to a smooth and well-organized Maha Kumbh experience.
