In a tragic incident this morning, a speeding BMW struck a couple on a two-wheeler in Mumbai’s Worli, resulting in the death of a woman, according to police reports.
Kaveri Nakva and her husband, Pradik Nakva, residents of the Koliwada area in Worli, were on an early morning trip to Sassoon Dock to fetch fish. As they were returning home around 5:30 am, their two-wheeler was hit from behind by a speeding BMW. The collision was so severe that their bike overturned, throwing both Kaveri and Pradik onto the bonnet of the car. While Pradik managed to jump off the bonnet in an attempt to save himself, Kaveri was not as fortunate. She was dragged for 100 meters by the car as it attempted to flee the scene.

Amid the ensuing chaos, the driver of the BMW fled, leaving the injured Kaveri behind. She was quickly rushed to a hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
Pradik Nakva is currently undergoing treatment. The police have launched an investigation into the hit-and-run case.
Sources indicate that the BMW was driven by Rajesh Shah, the son of a prominent figure from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction of Shiv Sena. While the car has been seized, Rajesh Shah remains on the run. He has been detained for questioning, but efforts to locate him continue.
