Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Highlights Education As Key To National Strength At ‘Road to School’ Launch

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the critical role of education in building a strong and capable nation during the inauguration of the ‘Road to School’ initiative in Chargaon block, Gorakhpur, on Tuesday. This project marks the first endeavor under the Nipun Bharat Mission in the state.

Speaking at a ceremony held at a resort in Chargaon, CM Adityanath underscored that education is fundamental to a civilized society and essential for realizing human values and needs. He highlighted the historical significance of educational systems, noting the ancient Gurukul system and renowned centers like Takshashila, Nalanda, and Kashi as pivotal in promoting learning.

School Chalo Campaign

Reflecting on modern advancements, CM Adityanath acknowledged ongoing efforts to enhance education post-independence but stressed that more progress is necessary. He addressed the issue of school dropouts, which had been prevalent before 2017. The Chief Minister credited the School Chalo campaign for significantly reducing dropout rates, revealing that between 2017 and now, enrollment in Uttar Pradesh’s council schools has surged from 1.34 crore to 1.92 crore despite the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, CM Adityanath outlined the expansion of educational infrastructure, including the establishment of Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools and Atal Residential Schools at divisional headquarters, as well as the upcoming opening of day schools in 57 districts. The introduction of PM Shri and Chief Minister Composite Schools aims to further strengthen the education sector.

Road to School

The ‘Road to School’ project, a new variant of the School Chalo campaign, focuses on ensuring 100% enrollment and regular attendance through a pyramid structure involving resource persons and monitoring teams. This innovative program emphasizes practical teaching methods and holistic development, including education, health, sports, and arts.

CM Adityanath concluded by affirming the commitment to building a “Nipun Uttar Pradesh” as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through collaborative efforts and the continued advancement of educational initiatives.
