VHP Criticizes Manish Sisodia Over Tilak Controversy

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) national spokesperson Vinod Bansal publicly criticized former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday after a video surfaced showing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader wiping a ‘Tilak’ off his forehead during a public event.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, depicts Sisodia receiving a traditional welcome where attendees applied a ‘Tilak’ to his forehead. However, shortly after the gesture, the footage shows him removing the ‘Tilak’ with the same shawl used for the ceremony.

Bansal took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his discontent, questioning Sisodia’s motivations. “So much hatred for Tilak…??” he wrote. “Here is AAP leader Manish Sisodia, welcomed by the public with a Tilak and shawl, only to wipe it off right after getting a photo taken!”

In a subsequent post, Bansal challenged Sisodia directly, asking, “Is that not true? Did you become a Hindu just to get a photo taken? Or is this video a miracle of AI? Please clarify!”

Speaking to Bharat Express, Bansal demanded clarification from both Sisodia and the AAP regarding the authenticity of the video. He urged them to confirm whether the footage was genuine or a doctored deepfake.

“If this video of Manish Sisodia is true,” Bansal asserted, “then it raises serious questions: why does he harbor such hatred and contempt for ‘Tilak’ and Hindu beliefs? Do AAP leaders visit Hanuman Temples solely for photo opportunities and electoral gains?”

The video has ignited widespread debate on social media, with many users questioning Sisodia’s actions and his commitment to Hindu traditions. As the discourse unfolds, both Sisodia and the AAP have yet to respond to the mounting criticism.
