Verdict Postponed in Arson Case Against SP MLA Irfan Solanki; Next Hearing on April 4

SP MLA Irfan Solanki, lodged in Maharajganj jail, was presented in the court on Thursday amid heavy security. During this, the accused MLA’s brother Rizwan and others also appeared.

Kanpur:  The decision in the arson case involving SP MLA Irfan Solanki was deferred on Thursday, with the MP/MLA court now scheduled to deliver its verdict on April 4. Despite heavy security and the presence of all accused, including Irfan Solanki and his brother Rizwan Solanki, at the court, the anticipated judgment was postponed.

Earlier, the court had set dates for pronouncing the verdict on March 14, March 19, and March 22, all of which were postponed. It is now anticipated that the court will finally deliver its verdict on April 4.

Irfan Solanki’s lawyer, Kaleem Ahmed Siddiqui, mentioned that the cross-examination of both the defence and prosecution had concluded, raising expectations for a verdict on the day. However, the court opted to defer the decision to the next hearing.

Amid heavy security, Irfan Solanki expressed his confidence in the justice system while heading to the court, but refrained from answering media inquiries. His family and supporters expressed disappointment over the postponed decision.

In anticipation of the court’s verdict, heightened security measures were implemented in Kanpur, with forces deployed in sensitive areas to maintain order.
