Uttarakhand Reveres Consecration Ceremony of Ram Lalla Idol in Ayodhya with Enthusiasm

On Monday, the air in Uttarakhand was filled with devotional songs dedicated to Lord Ram as temples across the state celebrated the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. People engaged in ‘Shobha yatras’ and organized ‘bhandaras’ to mark this auspicious occasion.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the new idol of Ram Lalla took place at the temple in Ayodhya in an event led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Homes throughout the state adorned themselves with flowers, saffron flags, lights, and diyas, as people exchanged wishes to commemorate the momentous event.

Various parts of the state witnessed ‘Shobha yatras’ (religious processions), ‘bhandaras,’ and live screenings of the ‘Pran Pratishtha.’ Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami initiated his day by reciting verses from the Ramcharitmanas at a temple within his official residence before the consecration ceremony.

Dhami prayed for the prosperity of the people of the state and the well-being of Sanatanis worldwide. He then visited a cowshed on the premises of his official residence to offer his service to “gau mata” (mother cow).

Expressing the significance of witnessing the restoration of Sanatan culture with the inauguration of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Dhami remarked, “After 500 years of struggle and the sacrifice of Ram devotees, I am overjoyed to witness this grand and divine festival.”

Later, Dhami visited the Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple in town to perform a yagya with his family and watched the live streaming of the event. He distributed ‘prasad’ among the people after its conclusion and emphasized the need to instill the values of justice, morality, integrity, courage, decency, and compassion of Lord Shri Ram in our lives.

Appealing to everyone to make future generations aware of Lord Ram’s life and struggles, the chief minister also participated in a puja and attended a deepotsav (festival of lights) on the banks of the Ganga at Har ki Pairi in Haridwar in the evening. Former Union minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Haridwar MLA Madan Kaushik accompanied him in these celebrations.
