Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday, describing the interaction as a courtesy meeting and expressing gratitude for continued support from the Centre.
Taking to the social media platform after the meeting, CM Dhami praised the Prime Minister’s leadership and extended festive greetings.
Taking to X, he posted, “Met the world’s most popular leader, the esteemed Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, in New Delhi, who has given India a new direction, new energy, and new confidence; who is ever dedicated to the empowerment of the poor, farmers, youth, and women with a resolve for service, dedication, and nation-building; and who enhances the honor, respect, and pride of Mother India on the global stage. On this occasion, extended heartfelt wishes for Ram Navami.”
“During this time, presented as gifts a replica of Mother Surkanda Devi, ghee from Badri cows, and five types of rajma and honey produced in the hilly regions of the state,” the post further read.

Development Push and Key Proposals
CM Dhami credited the Union government’s guidance for Uttarakhand’s steady progress. He thanked the Centre for key approvals, including Rs 500 crore support for the Haridwar Kumbh 2027, river-linking feasibility studies by the National Water Development Agency, and Rs 100 crore for developing Chaurasi Kutiya in Rajaji National Park.
CM Dhami also acknowledged support for the Naini-Saini airstrip agreement and helicopter services during the Char Dham Yatra.
The Chief Minister highlighted major infrastructure initiatives such as underground electric lines in Rishikesh, the Champawat bypass, Dehradun Ring Road, and the Dehradun-Mussoorie road project. He also briefed the Prime Minister on efforts to position Uttarakhand as a global wedding destination, citing developments in Chopta, Duggalbitta, and Triyuginarayan.
CM Dhami outlined tourism growth, noting a rise in visitors to Adi Kailash and the expansion of winter tourism. He also detailed initiatives such as Spiritual Economic Zones, the ‘House of Himalayas’ brand, and schemes aimed at strengthening education and rural livelihoods.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister sought expansion of the Regional Rapid Transit System to Haridwar and Rishikesh and proposed the development of industrial hubs in Kotdwar, Haridwar, and Dehradun. He also requested support for the Delhi-Haldwani Expressway and key rail projects, including the Rishikesh–Karnaprayag line.
The Chief Minister invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate major projects and presented him with a replica of the Maa Surkanda Devi temple.
