As the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj approaches, prominent saints have begun arriving at Maha Kumbh Nagar, praising the preparations led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, with Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajanand Devtirth commending the arrangements as conducive to spiritual practices
“Being a saint himself, CM Yogi has taken a personal interest in overseeing the preparations,” stated Swami Adhokshajanand. “This dedication has strengthened the faith of devotees and created an ideal setting for rituals like sadhana, yagya, and tapasya.”
The Shankaracharya expressed that the spiritual activities during Maha Kumbh would bless not just Uttar Pradesh but also the Chief Minister.
“All saints and sages will offer special prayers for the Chief Minister’s honor, glory, and a prosperous future,” he added.
Reflecting on governance, Swami Adhokshajanand highlighted the stark contrast between the present and previous administrations.
“Under past heretic regimes, religious traditions were ignored. Today, under leadership rooted in Sanatan Dharma, our spiritual heritage has been revived,” he further stated.
He also emphasized that humility and devotion are essential traits for leaders in sacred places.
Acknowledging the Chief Minister’s commitment, he said, “CM Yogi’s respect for saints and devotees has elevated the dignity of this event. In return, we will pray for his continued success and the welfare of the state.”
Swami Adhokshajanand also addressed challenges faced by Sanatan Dharma, noting that adversities often lead to divine intervention.
“Whenever Sanatan Dharma is threatened, spiritual forces rise to restore balance. This Maha Kumbh will spread Sanatan Dharma’s essence globally, empowering its followers,” he noted.
On the development of religious sites, he further remarked that a civilized ruler addresses past cultural wounds.
“Our deities, monasteries, temples, and rivers like the Ganga and Yamuna are central to our faith. Their restoration brings joy to society. Despite historical challenges, divine forces, through saints and leaders, ensure the preservation of our traditions,” Swami Adhokshajanand further asserted.
Swami Adhokshajanand’s camp in Sector 18 will feature mats crafted from banana leaves sourced from Assam.
These handmade mats, crafted by drying and joining banana tree parts, are a first for the Maha Kumbh.
A total of 151 mats have already arrived, alongside coconuts and betel nuts for havan ceremonies at the Yagyashala.
“The mats are not only functional but also symbolize our connection to nature,” explained Swami Adhokshajanand. Supplies from the Northeast and other regions will enrich the rituals, adding a unique touch to this grand spiritual gathering.
