On Republic Day, Uttar Pradesh’s tableau at the Kartavya Path in New Delhi captivated the audience by showcasing the divine grandeur of Maha Kumbh. With Sanskrit chants resonating through the air, the tableau celebrated India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage, immersing the nation in the essence of Maha Kumbh.
The tableau, themed “Golden India: Heritage and Development,” vividly brought to life the iconic tale of Samudra Manthan. At its centerpiece, Nag Vasuki coiled around Mount Mandarachal, while Lord Vishnu appeared in his Kurma (tortoise) avatar, supporting the mountain. The tableau depicted gods and demons churning the ocean in their quest for nectar, an enduring symbol of perseverance and divine intervention.
In the front section, saints blew conch shells, while women in traditional attire carried sacred pots and performed joyous dances, adding vibrancy and authenticity to the presentation.
Poetic Charm Enhances The Display
A specially composed song by poet Virendra Vats, blending Sanskrit and Hindi, added a lyrical depth to the tableau. The poetic verses harmonized with the visuals, enhancing the spiritual and cultural message of the presentation.
The tableau not only highlighted the spiritual grandeur of Maha Kumbh but also emphasized Uttar Pradesh’s cultural legacy and developmental strides. Spectators praised it for its unique and inspiring portrayal of heritage and progress.
Having won numerous national awards in previous years, Uttar Pradesh once again stood out at the Republic Day parade. This tableau, centered on Maha Kumbh, became a proud symbol of the state’s vibrant identity and India’s timeless traditions.
