In an attempt to move closer to “Digital India,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the country to rely more on digital payment methods and Unified Payment Interface (UPI) applications for conducting business.
On Sunday, November 26, Prime Minister Modi presented the 107th episode of his monthly radio show, Mann Ki Baat. He honored the victims of the terrible attacks of September 26, 2001, which occurred 15 years ago today, to begin the radio program.
We will always remember November 26. The worst terrorist attack to ever strike the nation happened on this day. The entire nation, including Mumbai, was rocked by terrorists. However, it speaks to India’s resilience that we were able to withstand that attack and are currently fighting terrorism fearlessly,” he stated.
The prime minister stated in the 107th episode of Mann Ki Baat, “UPI payments have increased in the past months. I urge you to only make UPI payments for the upcoming month and write to me about your experience.”

He went on, “People have lessened their reliance on cash payments during Diwali for the second year in a row. This indicates that the use of digital payments is growing among people.”
Everyone should make the commitment to stop relying on cash payments and to only utilize UPI for transactions for a month. This is now feasible and available to everyone thanks to India’s technological breakthroughs, PM Modi stated
