UPPSC Announces Single-Day PCS (Preliminary) Exam After CM Yogi’s Intervention

In response to demands from competitive exam candidates, the UPPSC announced a major decision to conduct the PCS Exam 2024 in a single day.

PCS Exam

In response to demands from competitive exam candidates, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced a major decision to conduct the upcoming PCS (Preliminary) Exam 2024 in a single day.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed this decision, advising the UPPSC to engage in dialogue with students and prioritize necessary adjustments after acknowledging candidates’ concerns.

The move will likely benefit millions of candidates preparing for the competitive exams, bringing relief and greater certainty.

CM Yogi’s Initiative For Students’ Interests

Recently, dissatisfaction had been growing among students over scheduling issues, with many candidates demanding that the PCS preliminary exam be held in one sitting rather than across multiple sessions.

In response, CM Yogi took prompt action and instructed the commission to consult with students to address their concerns.

Following his guidance, the UPPSC engaged with the candidates and ultimately decided to revert to the previous format, holding the PCS Preliminary Exam 2024 in a single day.

Formation Of A Committee For The RO/ARO Exams

Additionally, in another significant move, the UPPSC has postponed the 2023 Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) examinations to ensure transparency and fairness.

The Commission has formed a dedicated committee to conduct a thorough analysis of all aspects concerning these exams.

The committee will present a detailed report shortly, aiming to reinforce the integrity of these exams and further improve the selection process.

Focus On Exam Transparency

The commission’s secretary highlighted that in light of recent incidents involving exam paper leaks across the country, the UP government has intensified efforts to ensure the transparency and integrity of competitive exams.

Initially, UPPSC had planned to hold PCS and RO/ARO exams across multiple sessions in December to mitigate risks.

However, following the CM’s intervention and considering students’ appeals, UPPSC decided to conduct the PCS Preliminary Exam in one day.

Positive Impact On Students

The announcement has met with optimism among the student community, as it will simplify the exam process and enhance transparency and fairness.

By streamlining the exam into a single-day format, students are likely to feel more confident in the system’s impartiality.

Furthermore, the findings of the newly formed committee will likely support stronger safeguards for the integrity of future exams.

Candidates have expressed their appreciation for CM Yogi Adityanath’s swift action in addressing their concerns, celebrating this change as a significant step toward fairer and more transparent exams in the state.
