Updates On Security Arrangements for G-20 Summit, India All Geared Up To Welcome Dignitaries

As the current president of the G20 India is all geared up to host it. The G-20 Summit will be held at the Pragati Maidan on September 9 and 10. To ensure the safety of the high-profile event, several security precautions have been implemented, including anti-drone devices and armored limousines.

The G-20’s security arrangements:

1) The national capital of Delhi has deployed more than 1,30,000 security officers as it prepares to host the G20 conference on September 9 and 10.

2) Instead of khaki, about 45,000 members of the Delhi Police and central troops would be dressed in blue formal attire. Commandos who will serve as personal security guards to assist in defending the prominent dignitaries from the ground are among the 45,000 people.

3) To coordinate all parts of the preparations with the relevant security authorities, the IAF has established a special Operations Direction Centre (ODC).

4) An IAF spokesman declared, “We are taking every precaution to provide complete security for the G20 Summit…We are devoting resources to cope with threats of various kinds, from high-speed targets to ones that move slowly.

5) To counter airborne threats, the Indian military will deploy anti-drone equipment alongside the air force, Delhi police, and paramilitary forces, with 400 firemen being on standby.

6) To transport foreign dignitaries, the Indian government has also chartered 20 armored limousines for about 18 crore rupees. In addition, the government has requested that foreign nations bring “rational” numbers of vehicles and troops without setting any limitations.

7) At Pragati Maidan, where US Vice President Joe Biden will be staying, security control rooms are being put up, and additional preparations are being made at notable hotels like ITC Maurya.

8) On Sunday, the Delhi Police escorted carcades from various sections of the city as part of a thorough dress rehearsal for the G20. A dedicated G-20 virtual support desk has been established to provide commuters with suggested routes to and from airports, train stations, and bus stops.

9) 1,500 members of the Delhi Police will be stationed outside the site for the G20 Summit, which will take place at the Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan on September 9 and 10.

10. “Delhi Police staff deployed for the G20 Summit have been given micro-level training,” said Madhup Tiwari, Special Commissioner of Police for Delhi. They have had several briefings on their responsibilities, and practice sessions are ongoing.
