Meerut: The Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF) has detained seven persons in Meerut and Delhi for their participation in the recent police recruitment exam paper leak case, authorities said on Wednesday.
The suspects are claimed to be part of a group involved in the question paper leak of the Uttar Pradesh Recruitment and Promotion Board examination on February 17 and 18, according to the STF statement. Naveen, and Sahil, all district residents, were detained from their home at Kanker Kheda Police Station in Meerut, according to police. Pramod Pathak, a resident of Gautam Buddha Nagar, was arrested the same night in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi.

Their crew was also accused of arranging paper solvers and distributing questions to applicants preparing for competitive examinations, according to an STF statement.
Police stated many documents connected to the 2024 constable recruitment examination, solved question papers, several mobile phones, and cash were recovered from the suspects.
They said that the accused accepted Rs. 10 lakh from aspirants on the promise of releasing the question paper.
STF has filed two FIRs against the accused under Indian Penal Code sections 419 (punishment for cheating by personation), 420 (cheating by inducement), 467 (forgery of valuable documents), 468 (forgery for cheating), 471 (using forged document as genuine), and 386 (extortion by putting any person in fear of death or grievous harm) at Meerut’s Kankar Kheda and Noida’s Sector 39 Police Stations.
