UP MLA Rajeshwar Singh Urges AI, Cybersecurity Education In School Curriculum

Sarojini Nagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, urging the introduction of Artificial Intelligence, digital literacy, and cybersecurity education in the state’s school curriculum. He emphasised that early technological exposure will equip students for the rapidly evolving digital economy.

In his letter, Singh noted that the global surge in Artificial Intelligence is transforming economic structures and employment patterns. He highlighted projections that AI could contribute over 15 trillion dollars to the world economy by 2030.

The legislator also cited remarks by Julie Sweet, Chief Executive Officer of Accenture, who observed that future promotions and career progression will increasingly depend on an employee’s ability to effectively utilise AI-driven tools.

Singh argued that such trends make early-stage AI education indispensable.

To institutionalise this transformation, Singh proposed launching the ‘Uttar Pradesh AI and Digital Education Mission’.

The initiative recommends introducing AI and coding from Class 6 onwards. It also suggests establishing AI and digital innovation laboratories in schools and organising specialised teacher training programmes with support from institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

Singh encouraged partnerships with technology firms to strengthen practical learning. He further underscored the importance of cybersecurity awareness.

Referring to a recent cyberattack on Stryker Corporation, allegedly linked to the hacker collective Handala Hackers, he warned that digital threats are rising globally.

According to him, students must learn cyber safety, data protection, and responsible online conduct.

The MLA asserted that structured AI education will cultivate innovation, strengthen cyber awareness, generate future-ready skills, and help position Uttar Pradesh as a prominent technology and AI hub.
