UP Gov To Implement Biometric Attendance For Madrasa Teachers

The UP Board of Madrasa Education plans to implement biometric attendance for teachers across all 16,000 registered and 560 aided madrasas statewide.

Currently, this digital system is operational in 171 aided madrasas. Officials aim to install this system in all registered and aided institutions under the board within a year. This initiative is expected to tackle absenteeism and fraud, thereby enhancing the educational quality and administrative efficiency of madrasas.

“The Board has mandated the implementation of biometric attendance systems in madrasas across the state. Additionally, CCTV cameras have been installed near biometric machines to further prevent fraudulent activities. This directive for Madrasa, which initially faced opposition, has now been largely accepted due to the department’s stringent enforcement.” Reebha added that in the next step, biometric attendance would be mandated for all students of madrasas as well,” Department director J. Reebha stated.
