Union Minister Arjun Munda
Arjun Munda, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, attended an international seminar on ‘Changing Trends in Political Parties and Party System in India’ hosted by ICSSR. The event, which took place in New Delhi, was organized by Satyavati College, the University of Delhi, and the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA).
The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs extended his gratitude to the symposium’s organizers during a session titled ‘Changing Trends in Political Parties and Party System in India’.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “This is a very significant event that seeks to open a discussion on a matter of political importance to India, representing the idea that it is crucial to reflect on current problems and potential solutions”.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the convergence of scholars who will present their research and analysis across subject areas, citing India as the mother of democracy. He praised the organizers and said the initiative was admirable.
The Minister also drew attention to the recently launched Pradhan Mantri-PVTG Development Mission, which aims to address the needs of particularly vulnerable tribal groups that have been ignored for far too long. “The government is spearheading the projects and working collaboratively for the development and welfare of this community”, he added.
Furthermore, the Minister emphasized the importance of bridging the gap through ‘public participation’ and ‘contribution’ through this dialogue by identifying and addressing perspectives, challenges, opportunities, and gaps. He expressed his best wishes to the program’s participants.
The symposium brings together eminent scholars, policymakers, and experts to discuss the changing trends in Indian political parties and party systems. The two-day event promises to be an inspiring and educational platform for bringing diverse perspectives on this important topic together.
