Union Home Minister Amit Shah To Visit Haridwar; Focus On Uttarakhand Development Initiatives

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will visit Haridwar on Saturday to review a development exhibition at Bairagi Camp and address a public gathering.

Officials expect the visit to highlight the state government’s development initiatives and welfare programmes implemented over the past four years.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, will attend the event along with state ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, public representatives, and senior officials.

According to an official release, the Union Minister will tour a special exhibition at Bairagi Camp showcasing major development projects, welfare schemes, and policy initiatives undertaken under Dhami’s leadership.

The exhibition highlights progress across key sectors in Uttarakhand, including infrastructure, social welfare programmes, and governance reforms aimed at improving public services.

Various state departments have set up stalls displaying photographs, project models, and informational panels showcasing the state’s recent development and focus on citizen welfare.

Officials said the exhibition also emphasises good governance, transparency, and citizen-centric service delivery.

The event will provide a platform for citizens to learn about government initiatives and interact with officials regarding ongoing development programmes.

Alongside the development exhibition, a state-level programme titled ‘Nyaya Sanhita’ will be held at Bairagi Camp from March 7 to March 9, 2026, to raise awareness about India’s new criminal laws.

The exhibition will highlight key provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, which aim to modernise India’s criminal justice system.

After reviewing the exhibition, Home Minister Amit Shah will proceed to the Godwin Hotel in Haridwar to attend a meeting with senior officials.

The visit reflects the Centre’s focus on development and governance reforms in the state.
