Tripura CM Manik Saha Meets PM Modi; Discusses State Development In Delhi

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday. He congratulated the Prime Minister on completing 12 years in power and acknowledged his recent electoral success in West Bengal.

Saha described the election outcome as a landmark achievement. He remarked that the victory demonstrated the electorate’s continued confidence in PM Modi’s leadership and governance approach.

Manik Saha shared these views via social media updates.

The meeting included detailed deliberations on issues related to Tripura’s development.

Saha stated that they explored measures to strengthen the state’s economy, improve administrative functioning, and reinforce organisational networks at the grassroots level. He noted that the interaction was productive and centred on advancing the state’s long-term progress.

During the meeting, Manik Saha presented a framed image of the Tripura Sundari Temple to the Prime Minister. He pointed out that the shrine, upgraded under the PRASHAD scheme, has become a prominent attraction for pilgrims and tourists nationwide.

The Chief Minister highlighted several major initiatives introduced under PM Modi’s leadership, including Digital India, Swachh Bharat, Ayushman Bharat, and PM Awas Yojana. He stated that these programmes have reinforced India’s development trajectory and enhanced its global profile.

The Tripura Sundari Temple, constructed in 1501 by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya, is regarded as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.

The redevelopment project, carried out under the PRASHAD scheme, involved an investment exceeding ₹54 crore with support from both Central and state authorities.

Tripura became part of the Indian Union in 1949 following an agreement signed by Maharani Kanchan Prabha Devi.

The state continues to draw upon its historical and cultural roots in shaping its development path.

The interaction, however, reflected a shared focus on strengthening governance and accelerating development in Tripura.

The outcomes of the discussions will likely contribute to sustained progress and broader opportunities for the state.
