Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha held crucial meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister & BJP National President JP Nadda in the national capital on Friday.
In the meeting, CM Saha discussed key development projects and sought central assistance for advancing the state’s healthcare and infrastructure sectors.
Tripura CM Seeks Centre’s Support For State Initiatives
After meeting Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Saha tweeted on X.
Sharing the post, he wrote, “Met Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji in New Delhi. Discussed key development initiatives of our state government and sought his valuable guidance and support from the Centre for further progress.”

He emphasized Tripura’s commitment to development and expressed confidence in the Centre’s support to accelerate ongoing and future projects.
Focus On Health Sector Development In Meeting With JP Nadda
Later in the day, CM Saha called on Union Health Minister JP Nadda and discussed the health infrastructure in Tripura. “I briefed the Honorable Health Minister on various issues related to health services, including the improvement of super specialty departments, and requested necessary assistance,” Saha stated.
As Health Minister, CM Saha sought central support to upgrade Tripura’s medical services.
Plan To Establish Homeopathy Medical College Underway
Earlier this week, the Chief Minister announced plans to set up a Homeopathy Medical College in Tripura, a first for the state.
“We must overcome the challenges in homeopathy treatment. Investors from outside have shown interest, and we have asked them to set up a college,” he said.
Saha, a dental surgeon himself, acknowledged the growing demand for homeopathy and the need to build local capacity to meet public healthcare needs.
Tripura Aims To Become Medical Hub In Northeast
The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s ambition to develop Tripura into a medical hub.
Currently, the state has three medical colleges: one government, one semi-government, and one private. Several private organizations have shown interest in establishing new institutions.
Saha said efforts are on to boost investment in healthcare and medical education to improve access and create jobs.
